124 new COVID-19 cases, 74 recoveries

Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 124 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County, the third most COVID-19 cases reported in one day.

The number of additional recoveries grew to 3,190, a rise of 74.

The Regional Information Center is reminding residents who have underlying health conditions that there is greater risk of complications from COVID-19 and that extra precaution should be taken by all residents who interact with this vulnerable population. See more here.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 4,456 (+124 from 7/22)
  • Deaths: 105 (+0)
  • Recovered: 3,190 (+74)
  • Active cases: 1,161 (+50)
  • Currently hospitalized: 66 (-1)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 329 (+7)

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of July 23: 74,583 (+1,409 since 7/22)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of July 23:

  • 64 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+1% since 7/22)
  • 46 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-3%)
  • 15 percent of all ventilators are in use (-1%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
