Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting one COVID-19-related death in Washoe County: A male in his 80s with underlying health conditions. There have been 177 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

Additionally, there were 100 new COVID-19 cases reported today with 44 recoveries. The 7-day rolling average for new cases per day is at 100. More COVID-19 statistics can be found here.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 10,806 (+100 from 10/12)
  • Deaths: 177 (+1)
  • Recovered: 9,300 (+44)
  • Active cases: 1,329 (+55)
  • Currently hospitalized: 77 (-2)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 750 (+14)

COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of October 13: 157,455 (+1,001 since 10/12)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of October 13:

  • 65 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+1% since 10/12)
  • 45 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-2%)
  • 22 percent of all ventilators are in use (+2%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.

Make sure to cancel your COVID-19 test appointment if you can’t make it

The Regional Information Center is reminding Washoe County residents that if they are unable to attend an appointment to get a COVID-19 test that they should cancel it on the same online platform where they signed up. Last week, there were 160 no-shows during a two-day period of testing, which accounted for nearly 17 percent of all appointments for those two days.
