Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting two COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County: A male in his 60s and a male in his 90s; both with underlying health conditions.
Additionally, there were 224 recoveries and 76 new COVID-19 cases reported in Washoe County.
- Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 11,060 (+76 from 10/14)
- Deaths: 182 (+2)
- Recovered: 9,605 (+224)
- Active cases: 1,273 (-150)
- Currently hospitalized: 88 (+7)
- Cases who have discharged from hospital: 765 (+3)
COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County
- Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of October 15: *157,150 (-2,217 since 10/14)
Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.
*The Regional Information Center is working with the State as to why the number of COVID-19 tests went down and will provide an update when it’s available.
Hospital bed and ventilator information
According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of October 15:
- 68 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+0% since 10/14)
- 45 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+1%)
- 22 percent of all ventilators are in use (+0%)
NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
