Stay Home for Nevada + Social Distancing Practices

The Regional Information Center advises our residents to #StayHomeforNevada and if you need to manage essential errands practice social distancing. Please stand 6-feet apart from those nearby, wear a protective facemask, and practice proper hand hygiene. Social distancing helps flatten the curve, and our essential workers including but not limited to healthcare, grocery and convenience stores, gas stations, postal employees, construction, and transit workers appreciate the public’s diligence.

Additional Parks and Recreation Closures
City of Reno, City of Sparks and Washoe County Parks and Trails are currently open. However, all playgrounds, basketball courts, volleyball courts, baseball fields, football/soccer fields, beaches, golf courses and driving ranges, skate parks, bocce ball courts, handball courts, horseshoes pits, and pickle ball courts are closed until further notice pursuant to the Governor’s Directive 013. If you and your family are outdoors, continue to practice social distancing and do not gather in large crowds.

RTC Bus Safety for Passengers and Drivers

The RTC and Keolis are working together to help maintain social distancing on our buses. Some bus seats are marked with an X to identify no seating areas. This helps to ensure passengers are riding 6-feet away from each other. Passengers should monitor their seating locations to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed for their safety and the safety of their fellow passengers. Learn more at rtcwashoe.com.

Quarantine Directive for Short-term Rental Property Owners & Out-of-State Users of Short-term Rentals

The Washoe County Health District (WCHD) issued guidance in early March that those who travel from out of state into Washoe County are advised to self-isolate for 14 days. Due to continuing concerns of people from out-of-state traveling to the area to stay in short-term rentals, WCHD is directing owners of short-term rental properties to inform people who travel from out of state into Washoe County and occupy short-term rentals that they must self-quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

This means they should not leave the property unless there is an emergency, in order to prevent spread of COVID-19. When the 14 days has passed, occupants should only go out for essential needs and are subject to the Governor’s directive to stay at home and cover their faces when they do go out to prevent the spread of disease.
