Cloth face masks are recommended to reduce spread of COVID-19

To help slow the spread of COVID-19, the State of Nevada and the Center for Disease Control issued guidance on wearing face masks and face coverings in public places. The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators.  Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance. COVID-19 has been shown to spread between people interacting in close-proximity even when those people aren’t showing symptoms. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has adjusted its recommendations to recommend wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. Please read to learn more on the proper use of face coverings to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
