Residents asked to limit gatherings for Easter holiday

The COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT) is asking residents maintain social distancing and limit the number of people gathering at community locations and in households for the Easter holiday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that people can spread COVID-19 despite not showing symptoms and gatherings can be a potential source of infection, especially for vulnerable populations like the elderly. We ask that people celebrate the holiday by having smaller gatherings of just those who live in the household.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ventilators deployed

The Health Branch of the IMT distributed another round of PPE to local hospitals on Friday. The Health Branch is responsible for distributions of PPE received from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).

In addition, the Health Branch deployed 15 of 35 ventilators that were received from the SNS. The others are expected to be deployed soon.
