Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting the 77th COVID-19-related death in Washoe County: A female in her 80s with underlying health conditions.

Celebrate 4th of July Responsibly

With the 4th of July holiday approaching, the Washoe County Health District strongly encourages residents to avoid large gatherings.

Wearing a mask or face covering in public is also strongly encouraged. People who have COVID-19 can actively spread the virus despite not showing symptoms, so it is important to wear a face covering to protect those around you, especially our vulnerable populations.

Studies show that face coverings can obstruct droplets coming from your mouth/nose that are carrying COVID-19, which reduces the chance of the virus being transmitted from person to person.

The rise in COVID-19 cases is alarming: Since June 18, the record for the most single-day COVID-19 cases has been set five times. The 7-day moving average for new cases per day on June 18 was 30. Today, the average is 74. See our COVID-19 Dashboard here for more than 25 data sets, including race/ethnicity, gender, age and other trends.
