35 new COVID-19 cases reported, data error discovered

Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 35 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County today.

The data for new cases on Sunday, July 5, however, was overreported by 33 cases due to a program error, so the total number of cases on the COVID-19 Dashboard increased today by just two (3,258 reported yesterday, total number today is 3,260). No other data reported yesterday contained errors and we apologize for the mistake.

The number of recoveries reported today increased by 62 for a total of 2,048.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 3,260 (+2 from 7/5)
  • Deaths: 82 (+0)
  • Recoveries: 2,048 (+62)
  • Active cases: 1,130 (-60)
  • Currently hospitalized: 88 (+2)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 241 (+1)

Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of July 6: 57,314 (+960 since 7/5)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of July 6, 2020:

  • 76 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+0% since 7/5)
  • 50 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-6%)
  • 21 percent of all ventilators are in use (+0%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
