Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 88 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County with 42 recoveries.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 6,904 (+88 from 8/24)
  • Deaths: 133 (+0)
  • Recovered: 5,600 (+42)
  • Active cases: 1,171 (+46)
  • Currently hospitalized: 87 (+1)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 498 (+7)

COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of August 25: 106,441 (+490 since 8/24)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of August 25:

  • 61 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+1% since 8/24)
  • 33 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-9%)
  • 15 percent of all ventilators are in use (+2%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.  

Free COVID-19 testing available, information on immigration status not required

The Washoe County Health District will not ask about immigration status or for health insurance when residents are tested for COVID-19 at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center.

The Health District strongly suggests that residents get tested if showing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath, other symptoms here), though you can get tested if you are not showing symptoms.
