Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 110 new COVID-19 cases and 99 recoveries in Washoe County.

The seven-day moving average for new cases in Washoe County is at 91.2.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 10,335 (+110 from 10/6)
  • Deaths: 167 (+0)
  • Recovered: 8,926 (+99)
  • Active cases: 1,242 (+11)
  • Currently hospitalized: 64 (-2)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 722 (+6)

COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of October 8: 151,729 (+1,541 since 10/7)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of October 8:

  • 64 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+0% since 10/7)
  • 45 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-4%)
  • 17 percent of all ventilators are in use (-1%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
