200th COVID-19-related death reported in Washoe County

Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting two COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County: A male in his 60s and a male in his 80s; both had underlying health conditions. There have been 200 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

Additionally, we’re reporting 115 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County with 87 recoveries. 

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 13,752 (+115 from 10/31)
  • Deaths: 200 (+2)
  • Recovered: 11,231 (+97)
  • Active cases: 2,321 (+16)
  • Currently hospitalized: 75 (-4)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 882 (+4)

COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of November 1: 181,585 (+2,187 since 10/31)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of October 30:

  • 78 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (-6% since 10/29)
  • 67 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (-2%)
  • 52 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+2%)
  • 14 percent of all ventilators are in use (-4%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
