Two COVID-19-related deaths, a record 377 new COVID-19 cases reported

Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting two COVID-19-related deaths and a record 377 additional COVID-19 cases in Washoe County.

The deceased are a male in his 70s and a male in his 90s; both had underlying health conditions. There have been 203 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

The 377 additional cases reported today is the most since 350 cases were reported on Oct. 23. There were 142 recoveries reported today. Private gatherings with non-household contacts continue to be the common activity reported in disease investigations.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 14,486 (+377 from 11/3)
  • Deaths: 203 (+2)
  • Recovered: 11,600 (+142)
  • Active cases: 2,683 (+233)
  • Currently hospitalized: 79 (-2)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 897 (+4)

COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of November 4: 185,073 (+1,266 since 11/3)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of Nov. 4:

  • 88 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (+7% since 11/3)
  • 73 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (+6%)
  • 60 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+14%)
  • 21 percent of all ventilators are in use (+4%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
