1 COVID-19-related death, 235 new cases, 467 recoveries reported

Jan. 19, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting one additional COVID-19-related death in Washoe County: A male in his 80s with an underlying health condition. There have been 568 COVID-19-related deaths reported.

Additionally, we’re reporting 467 recoveries from COVID-19 and 235 new cases.

The Washoe County Health District conducted its second vaccine administration event in the last two days, but updated numbers were not available at the time of this report.

*Data from Nevada Hospital Association (not updated on weekends or holidays) includes residents from outside of Washoe County.

**This number is approximate and includes only COVID-19 vaccines administered by the Health District, which occur 4-5 days per week.

NOTE: Due to some organizations receiving their vaccine directly from the state, we removed the “Total Vaccines Received in Washoe County” and “Vaccines distributed to community partners (Hospitals, medical providers)” bullet points.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of January 19 (Numbers not updated on weekends/holidays):

  • 74 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (-4% since 1/15)
  • 65 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (-3%)
  • 49 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+3%)
  • 23 percent of all ventilators are in use (-3%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
