Feb. 25, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 52 additional COVID-19 cases and 329 recoveries in Washoe County.
- Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 42,789 (+52 from 2/24)
- Deaths: 642 (+0)
- Recovered: 37,555 (+329)
- Active cases: 4,592 (-277)
- Hospitalized with COVID-19*: 36 (+1)
- Vaccines administered in Washoe County total**: 107,425 (+0 from 2/24)
- Vaccines administered by Washoe County Health District***: 44,246 (+74 from 2/24)
*Data from Nevada Hospital Association (not updated on weekends) includes residents from outside of Washoe County.
**This number includes first and second doses and is updated by the state of Nevada every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and can be found here under “Vaccinations” tab.

Hospital bed and ventilator information
According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of February 24 (Numbers not updated on weekends):
- 68 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (+3% since 2/23)
- 65 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (+3%)
- 48 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+4%)
- 13 percent of all ventilators are in use (-1%)
NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
Seniors 65+ will start receiving COVID-19 vaccine soon at Livestock Events Center
Seniors 65 years and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, the Regional Information Center announced. Those 65 and older can sign up for the Washoe County Senior COVID-19 Vaccine Wait List Form, or call 775-328-2427 for assistance with signing up. When more vaccine is shipped to Washoe County, random selections from the wait list will be made to fill available appointment times. Right now, there is not enough vaccine to administer to everyone 65 years and older.
If you are over 70 and signed up for the wait list yet didn’t receive an invitation, please check your email and voicemail inboxes. Otherwise, please sign up again for the wait list and we will pull names who recently signed up when we have vaccine available.
Demographic data for residents who have received the COVID-19 vaccine available
To see more demographic information about Washoe County residents who have received the vaccine, see this spreadsheet provided by the State of Nevada. For context, the data presented was entered into the state’s immunization database, WebIZ, and it often takes several days to enter that data after a shot is administered. The majority of people who received the vaccine in Washoe County initially were first responders, health care workers and others frontline/essential workforce designated by the State of Nevada in its playbook.
