57 additional COVID-19 cases, 86 recoveries reported

More than 200k vaccine have been administered in Washoe County

March 31, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 57 additional COVID-19 cases and 86 recoveries. The numbers reported were from Tuesday, March 30, and moving forward each report will include the previous days’ results.

The total number of cases, however, remained the same and the number of total recoveries went down eight because of some cases that were determined to be out of jurisdiction.

The recent change to the dashboard reported yesterday described how cases, deaths and recoveries can change retroactively if it’s determined that a case is not a resident of Washoe County. For the full dashboard, please click this link.

The State of Nevada announced that more than 200,000 vaccines have been administered in Washoe County, including more than 90,000 by the Washoe County Health District. See numbers below.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 44,093 (+57)
  • Deaths: 660 (+0)
  • Recovered: 41,504 (+86)
  • Active cases: 1,929 (-29)
  • Hospitalized with COVID-19: 27 (+4)
  • Positivity rate: 5.3%
  • Vaccines administered in Washoe County: 203,019 (+5,375 from 3/29; 33.11% of Washoe County population 16+ have had vaccination initiated)
  • Washoe County residents fully vaccinated: 80,163 (+988 from 3/29; 20.94% of Washoe County population 16+)
  • Vaccines administered by Washoe County Health District: 91,102 (+2,284 from 3/30; 35,631 fully vaccinated)

COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of March 31: 407,074 (+1,074 since 3/30)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of March 31:

  • 62 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (+2% since 3/30)
  • 65 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (+2%)
  • 46 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+1%)
  • 22 percent of all ventilators are in use (+2%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
