211 additional COVID-19 cases, 1 COVID-19-related death reported over the last 3 days

Health District administers 100,000th COVID-19 vaccine

April 5, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 211 additional COVID-19 cases, 130 recoveries and 1 additional COVID-19-related death over the last three days. The deceased is a male in his 60s with an underlying health condition. There have been 661 COVID-19-related deaths reported in Washoe County.

The data we’re reporting today is from April 2-4.

  • Sunday, April 4: 41 additional cases, 37 recoveries
  • Saturday, April 3: 97 additional cases, 48 recoveries
  • Friday, April 2: 86 additional cases, 45 recoveries

As of today:

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 44,394 (+211 from 4/2)
  • Deaths: 661 (+1)
  • Recovered: 41,751 (+130)
  • Active cases: 1,982 (+90)
  • Hospitalized with COVID-19: 30 (-2)
  • Positivity rate: 5.8% (+0.3%)
  • Vaccines administered in Washoe County: 218,7338 (+7,338 from 4/2; 35.92% of Washoe County population 16+ have had vaccination initiated)
  • Washoe County residents fully vaccinated: 87,383 (+3,027 from 4/2; 22.82% of Washoe County population 16+)
  • Vaccines administered by Washoe County Health District: 99,475 (+4,312 from 4/2; 38,137 fully vaccinated)

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of April 5: 411,596 (+2,154 since 4/2)

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of April 5:

  • 57 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (-7% since 4/2)
  • 60 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (-7%)
  • 37 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-7%)
  • 21 percent of all ventilators are in use (+0%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.

Washoe County residents 16 years and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and the Washoe County COVID-19 response team has launched a new scheduling platform that will allow residents to choose the brand of COVID-19 vaccine they want.
