Homeless Services update, mask donations
Under the direction of the Washoe County COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT), a Homeless Services division has been actively working to ensure essential services are provided to individuals in our region who are experiencing homelessness during this crisis.
The IMT is asking for community donations of handsewn and homemade masks, for distribution to our homeless population. Mask donations can be dropped off during regular business hours at the Community Assistance Center, located at 335 Record Street.
About a dozen hand-washing stations will be temporarily deployed soon in the region, as the weather is starting to warm up. The IMT could not deploy the stations any sooner, because of freezing overnight temperatures.
