Dec. 28, 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 176 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County. After a cleanup of the data, we’re reporting 668 recoveries for a total of 20,492.

There were zero COVID-19-related deaths reported today.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 35,038 (+176 from 12/27)
  • Deaths: 460 (+0)
  • Recovered: 20,492 (+668)
  • Active cases: 14,086 (-492)
  • Hospitalized with COVID-19*: 300 (+2)

The cities of Reno and Sparks are partnering with Walgreens to offer residents free COVID-19 testing beginning Sunday, December 27, 2020. Residents can make an online appointment on the Walgreens website by visiting www.Walgreens.com/COVID19testing.

Testing will be available at eight local Walgreens locations:

Dec. 27, 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 13 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. The deceased are:

  • Male, 80s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 80s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 80s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 80s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 60s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 80s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 90s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 50s, unknown if there was an underlying health condition
  • Female, 60s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 80s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 60s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 60s, unknown if there was an underlying health condition
  • Male, 30s, underlying health condition

There have been 460 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. A COVID-19-related death is determined by a physician or medical examiner to be COVID-19-related as the main cause of death, underlying cause of death or contributing cause of death. A list of underling health conditions that can make people more susceptible to COVID-19 complications, as determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, can be found here, and include hypertension and obesity.

We’re reporting 131 new COVID-19 cases and zero recoveries. Due to overwhelming workload and because all disease investigators are on a mandated furlough, no recoveries were reported today. Numbers will resume on Monday.

Dec. 26 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting seven COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. All of deaths would have been reported on Dec. 25. The COVID-19 response team had the day off in observance of Christmas. The deceased are:

  • Female, 50s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 70s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 70s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 90s, unknown if underlying health condition
  • Male, 70s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 60s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 40, underlying health condition

Additionally, we’re reporting 572 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days. There were 393 cases reported on Dec. 25; 179 cases were reported today. There have been 34,731 cases of COVID-19 reported in Washoe County.

Dec. 23, 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting nine COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. One of the previously reported deaths was a case whose jurisdiction was found to be outside Washoe County.

Due to this change, there are nine new COVID-19-related deaths to report, but the total only increased by eight from 425 to 433.
