Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting three COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County:
- Male in his 70s and it is under investigation if he had underlying health conditions
- Male in his 40s and it is under investigation if he had underlying health conditions
- Male in his 90s with an underlying health condition
There are 124 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.
Additionally, there were 78 COVID-19 recoveries reported and 55 new COVID-19 cases.
- Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 5,962 (+55 from 8/11)
- Deaths: 124 (+3)
- Recovered: 4,782 (+78)
- Active cases: 1,056 (-26)
- Currently hospitalized: 79 (-8)
- Cases who have discharged from hospital: 447 (+16)
COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County
- Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of Aug. 12: 96,637 (+373 since 8/11)
Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.
Hospital bed and ventilator information
According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of Aug. 12:
- 63 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+2% since 8/11)
- 43 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+6%)
- 13 percent of all ventilators are in use (+3%)
NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
