Dec. 12, 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting six COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. There have been 357 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County, which are determined by a physician or medical examiner to be COVID-19-related as the main cause of death, underlying cause of death or contributing cause of death. The deceased are:

  • Male, 60s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 90s, underlying health condition
  • Male, 40s, no underlying health condition
  • Male, 70s, underlying health condition
  • Female, 60, underlying health condition
  • Female, 80s, underlying health condition

Additionally, we’re reporting the 30,000th COVID-19 cases in Washoe County. 368 new COVID-19 cases were reported today, marking the total 30,310. The 25,000th COVID-19 case was reported on Nov. 30,

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 30,310 (+368 from 12/11)
  • Deaths: 357 (+6)
  • Recovered: 17,201 (+85)
  • Active cases: 12,752 (+277)
  • Hospitalized with COVID-19*: 256 (+0)

  • 52 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-7%)
  • 29 percent of all ventilators are in use (-1%)

The Washoe County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is looking for medical professionals or those without medical experience to volunteer to help fight COVID-19 in Washoe County.

MRC was created to support public health and emergency response efforts during natural disasters and other emergencies by providing trained volunteers to help staff shelters, alternate care sites, and points of dispensing. Given the rise in hospitalizations and increased demand in COVID-19 testing, volunteers are needed to support the region. There have been 351 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

Additionally, we’re reporting 416 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County. The seven-day moving average for new cases per day is at 424.

Estaciones de autoservicio deben ser operadas por el personal de las instalaciones

El Centro Regional de Información esta recordando a los residentes y dueños de negocios que las estaciones de autoservicio para refrescos no deben de estar al acceso de los clientes y las bebidas deben ser servidas por el personal de la instalación que lleve equipo de protección personal apropiado, según la directriz del gobernador Sisolak.

Directriz 013, sección 9, describe el uso de estaciones de autoservicio.  Los esfuerzos para cumplimiento de código regional identifican a varias tiendas que no se están apegando a la directriz y permiten que sus clientes tengan acceso a las estaciones de autoservicio.

COVID-19 test signup form to undergo scheduled maintenance tonight

The platform to sign up for a COVID-19 test at the Livestock Events Center will be down for scheduled maintenance starting at 7 p.m. today, Dec. 10, 2020 through 2 a.m., Friday, Dec. 11. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Self-serve food and drink stations must be operated by facility staff

The Regional Information Center is reminding both residents and business owners that self-serve food and drink stations cannot be accessed by customers and drinks must be served by facility staff wearing proper personal protective equipment, per Governor Sisolak’s directive.

Directive 013, section 9, outlines usage for self-serve stations. Regional code enforcement efforts identified several convenient stores not adhering to the directive and allowing patrons to access the self-serve stations.

9 de dic., 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – El Centro Regional de Información reporta 10 muertes relacionadas con COVID-19 en el Condado de Washoe. Los difuntos incluyen 7 hombres (edades en sus 50s, 2-60s, 2-70s, 80s, 90s) y tres mujeres (40s, 60s, 70s) y todos menos uno tenía una afección subyacente (hombre, en sus 60s no se ha determinado si existía afección subyacente).

Ha habido 338 muertes relacionadas con COVID-19 en el Condado de Washoe con 60 reportadas en diciembre.

Adicionalmente, reportamos 284 casos nuevos de COVID-19 y 732 recuperaciones.  El aumento en recuperaciones es debido a una auditoria de datos.  Las recuperaciones reportadas, como se notó en la actualización del martes, han sido bajas recientemente debido a la afluencia de casos nuevos de COVID-19.

El Distrito de Salud suspended las cartas para retornar al trabajo

Por último, el Distrito de Salud está suspendiendo sus esfuerzos en proveer cartas a los empleadores en donde se indicado que puede salir de aislamiento y pueden regresar a su trabajo.  Animamos a los empleadores a que trabajen con sus empleadas para entender los criterios de recuperaciones enlistados aquí, que son:

  1. Al menos 10 días han pasado desde el inicio de los sintomas, y
  2. Al menos 24 horas han pasado desde la última fiebre sin el uso de medicamento para reducir la fiebre, y
  3. Síntomas (e.g. tos, dificultad para respirar) han mejorado.
