15 new COVID-19 cases, 43 recoveries reported

Weekday COVID-19 updates to end after June 1; sign up for local alerts

May 28, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 15 new COVID-19 cases and 43 recoveries. No COVID-19-related deaths are being reported.

The last Washoe County COVID-19 weekday update will be issued on June 1, 2021. After that date, news releases will be distributed periodically when needed. To sign up for those updates, go to our website. The COVID-19 case, testing, and vaccination information is available on our dashboard noted below.

COVID-19 vaccines will be available next week at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center (RSLEC) – you can schedule an appointment here. The RSLEC vaccine and COVID-19 testing site will be closed over the weekend and on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. The COVID-19 call center will also be closed Sunday-Monday.

COVID-19 vaccinations will be available at Little Flower Church today from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday from 2-7 p.m. REMSA Health will be administering the Pfizer and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccines. No appointment is required. Spanish speaking personnel will be on site. The COVID-19 vaccine is always free.

Lyft and Uber announce free or discounted rides to COVID-19 vaccine appointments

The rideshare companies Uber and Lyft announced that each are offering free or discounted rides to and from COVID-19 vaccine appointments. 3 simple rules to follow regarding the updated mask mandates

  1. If you are fully vaccinated, you no longer have to wear a mask, indoors or outdoors.
  2. If you have not been vaccinated, you are still required to wear a mask indoors.
  3. If a business asks that you still wear a mask when visiting them, please respect their rules.

Mayo 27, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – El Centro Regional de Información está reportando una muerte adicional relacionada con COVID-19, un hombre de uno s60 anos con una condición de salud subyacente. Desde marzo del 2020 se han reportado 681 muertes relacionadas con COVID-19. Además, estamos reportando 18 nuevos casos de COVID-19 y 101 recuperaciones.  

Una nueva versión del panel covid-19 del condado de Washoe se lanzará hoy. La versión actualizada ofrece una mejor experiencia en un dispositivo móvil, incluye datos pertinentes de la vacuna e incorpora el medidor de riesgo COVID Truckee Meadows Consulte el panel aquí. May 26, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting one additional COVID-19-relaed death, 21 new cases and 80 recoveries. The deceased is a female in her 90s with an underlying health condition. There have been 680 COVID-19-related deaths reported since March 2020.

COVID-19 vaccines are available all week at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center – you can schedule an appointment here. The Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine is available Thursday, May 27, 2021 and requires only one dose, which means you would be considered fully vaccinated two weeks after on June 10 and be able to not wear a mask indoors or outdoors, per the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention guidance.

Appointments are not required but having an appointment will take less time at check-in. Those aged 12-17 years must receive the Pfizer vaccine and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Mayo 26, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – El Centro Regional de Información reporta una muerte adicional relacionada con COVID-19, 21 nuevos casos y 80 recuperaciones.  La difunta es una mujer en sus 90s con afección subyacente.  Ha habido 680 muertes relacionadas con COVID-19 reportadas desde marzo 2020.

Hay vacunas contra COVID-19 disponibles toda la semana en el RSLEC – programe su cita aquí. La vacuna contra COVID-19, Janssen (Johnson y Johnson) está disponible el jueves, 27 de mayo, 2021 y requiere una sola dosis, lo que significa que se le consideraría totalmente vacunado dos semanas después de su administración, el 10 de junio y así podría dejar de usar su tapabocas tanto adentro como al aire libre, según la guía de los Centros de Control y Prevención de Enfermedades.

3 simples reglas a seguir con respecto a los mandatos sobre tapabocas

  1. Si está totalmente vacunado, no necesita usara tapabocas, adentro o al aire libre.
  2. Si usted no está vacunado, todavía se requiere que use tapabocas en los interiores.
  3. Si un negocio le pide que use su tapabocas cuando este visitándolo, favor de respetas sus reglas.

Inscríbase a la Aplicación de Rastreo de COVID-19

Rastreo de COVID es una aplicación de rastreo de contactos móvil desarrollada por el Departamento de Salud y Servicios Human de Nevada que usa una tecnología de Google y Apple llamada el Sistema de Notificaciones de Exposición.  La aplicación intercambia información anónima con otros teléfonos a su alrededor y puede notificarle si ha estado en contacto con alguien que ha dado positivo para COVID-19.
