April 27, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting 26 additional COVID-19 cases in Washoe County with 83 recoveries.

Washoe County residents who are homebound can receive the COVID-19 vaccine by calling 775-328-2427. A public health nurse will come to your residence to administer the vaccine.

The Regional COVID-19 Response Team is urging residents who receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center (RSLEC) to fill out the screening questionnaire the day prior to your appointment.

Washoe County residents 16 years and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and the Washoe County COVID-19 response team has launched a new scheduling platform that will allow residents to choose the brand of COVID-19 vaccine they want. Abril 26, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – El Centro Regional de Información no reporta muertes relacionadas con COVID-19, 112 casos adicionales de COVID-19 en el Condado de Washoe y 148 recuperaciones en los últimos tres días, lo que captura datos del 24 y 26 de abril. El desglose es:

  • Domingo 26 de abril: 14 casos adicionales, 55 recuperaciones
  • Sábado 25 de abril: 53 casos adicionales, 56 recuperaciones
  • Viernes 24 de abril: 45 casos más, 37 recuperaciones

300,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in Washoe County

April 26, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting no COVID-19-related deaths, 112 COVID-19 cases and 148 recoveries over the last three days, which captures data from April 24-26. The breakdown is:

  • Sunday, April 26: 14 additional cases, 55 recoveries
  • Saturday, April 25: 53 additional cases, 56 recoveries
  • Friday, April 24: 45 additional cases, 37 recoveries

COVID-19 vaccine data on the State’s COVID-19 dashboard indicated that more than 300,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Washoe County. Also, more than 50 percent of the Washoe County population 16 years and older has had their vaccine initiated, which means they received at least one dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or are fully vaccinated with one dose (Janssen). Approximately 31.34 percent of residents 16 years and older are fully vaccinated, which amounts to 119,976 total people.

COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available

April 23, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is providing a COVID-19 vaccine community newsletter in Washoe County to help educate residents on the mass vaccination effort by the COVID-19 Response Team and community partners.

Update from the COVID-19 Response Team

Providers in Washoe County have administered 292,375 vaccines overall (114,803 fully vaccinated). Visit the State of Nevada’s vaccine dashboard to see more.  All Nevadans 16 years and older now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

COVID-19 Variant Surge in Washoe County

Tuesday, it was announced that there were 67 additional cases of the B.1.1.7 COVID-19 variant in Washoe County, bringing the total to 112. Both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines protect against this new strain, making it more important than ever to schedule your vaccination while also continuing to wear a mask and social distance to stop the spread.

If you are scheduled to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center (RSLEC), please be sure to fill out the screening questionnaire the day prior to your appointment.

The link to fill out the questionnaire only takes a few minutes and is emailed and texted to residents who sign up for a vaccine at RSLEC.

Residents are also asked to bring their confirmation email with the QR code on it by either printing it out or having it available on your smart phone. A QR code is a square, secure bar code that is located on the appointment confirmation email you receive after you schedule an appointment.

Filling out the questionnaire beforehand could speed up the time it takes to receive the vaccine by 20-30 minutes.

If you know someone that wants to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, NNMG is offering a clinic on Saturday, April 24 beginning at 9 a.m. Learn more about the vaccine, access patient forms and schedule your appointment at https://www.nnmg.com/health-alert. The Moderna vaccine will be offered to any ages 18 and older.

Homebound vaccine appointments available
The Washoe County Health District is providing COVID-19 vaccines to homebound residents.

People age 16 years and older who are homebound, including those who require a taxing effort to leave home, require assistance of another to leave the house or are bedridden, can call 775-328-2427 or email covidvaccine@washoecounty.us to sign up.
