Marzo 8, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – El Centro Regional de Información reporta dos días de datos para el Condado de Washoe.

El domingo, hubo 36 casos adicionales relacionados con COVID-19 en el Condado de Washoe con 122 recuperaciones.  Hoy, lunes, 8 de marzo se reportan 47 casos adiciones y 135 recuperaciones.  En los últimos dos días ha habido un aumento de 83 casos de COVID-19 y 257 recuperaciones en el Condado de Washoe.  Desde el sábado, la cuenta de casos activos bajo por 174 casos. 

El Distrito del Condado de Washoe administró 1,260 vacunas contra COVID-19 el sábado, la mayoría siendo segundas dosis.

Se invita a más personas de edad avanzada a que se vacunen contra COVID-19

Desde el viernes, unos 4,000 correos electrónicos han sido enviados a individuos escogidos al azar de 65 años o mayores con una invitación para programar su cita para vacunarse contra COVID-19. La selecciones se hicieron de la lista de espera de COVID-19 para los de edad avanzada – si no se ha inscrito, haga clic a este enlace.  Se aconseja a los residentes que revisen su bandeja de correos electrónicos y su folder de spam para ver si han sido seleccionados y sigan las instrucciones en su correo para programar una cita.

83 additional COVID-19 cases, 257 recoveries reported over the last two days

March 8, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting two days’ worth of COVID-19 data in Washoe County.

On Sunday, there were 36 additional COVID-19 cases in Washoe County with 122 recoveries. Today, Monday March 8, we’re reporting 47 additional cases and 135 recoveries. Over the last two days there has been an increase of 83 cases of COVID-19 and 257 recoveries in Washoe County. Since Saturday, the active case count went down by 174 cases.

The Washoe County Health District administered 1,260 COVID-19 vaccines on Saturday, most of which were second doses.

More seniors invited to receive the COVID-19 vaccine

Since Friday, about 4,000 emails went out to randomly-selected individuals 65 years and older with an invitation to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment. The selections were from the Senior COVID-19 vaccine waiting list – if you haven’t signed up, click this link. Residents are advised to check their email inbox and spam folder to see if they were selected and follow the instructions in the email to schedule an appointment.

Starting tomorrow, the Regional Information Center will not be sending COVID-19 regional updates on Sundays. Marzo 6, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – El Centro Regional de Información reporta 49 casos adicionales de COVID-19 en el Condado de Washoe con 127 recuperaciones. 

El evento de vacunas de hoy en el Centro de Eventos Livestock Reno-Sparks estaba programado para administrar más de 1,200 vacunas y muchos de los presentes eran educadores del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Washoe que estaban recibiendo sus segundas dosis.

Otros 2,000 correos electrónicos se enviaron al azar a individuos de 65 años o mayores el viernes con la oportunidad de programar su cita para vacunarse contra COVID-19. Las selecciones se tomaron de la lista de espera de COVID-19 para los de Edad Avanzada – si no se ha inscrito, haga clic en este enlace. Se aconseja a los residentes a revisar su bandeja de correos electrónicos y su folder de spam para ver si han sido seleccionados.

3 additional COVID-19-related deaths, 43 new cases reported

March 5, 2021. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting three additional COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County: A female in her 70s, a male in his 70s and a male in his 60s; all had an underlying health condition. There have been 649 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County since March 2020.

Additionally, we’re reporting 43 new COVID-19 cases and 178 recoveries.

Today’s date marks one year since the first COVID-19 cases was reported in Washoe County. The COVID-19 Response Team sent out a statement regarding the matter that can be read here.

Finally, the Regional Information Center will not be sending COVID-19 regional updates on Sundays moving forward starting this Sunday, March 7, 2021. The dashboard on the www.COVID19Washoe.com website, also available here, will have updated COVID-19 statistics, but no press release will be published to the website. Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of March 5:

  • 62 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (-2% since 3/4)
  • 60 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (-1%)
  • 36 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+0%)
  • 16 percent of all ventilators are in use (-1%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.

Can I choose which COVID-19 vaccine I want to receive?

At this time, there is not an opportunity for residents to choose which of the three approved COVID-19 vaccines they receive at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. The vaccine that is available the day of your appointment is the vaccine you will receive.

Recommendations from the Washoe County Health District, the State and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention advise people to get any vaccine that is available as all are shown to prevent contracting COVID-19 and being hospitalized from it.

COVID Trace is a contact tracing mobile app developed by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services that uses a technology called the Exposure Notifications System from Google and Apple.
